Bestselling author of Jane Austen variations

2018 is Here!

On this day when many are making new resolutions they hope to accomplish during the next 365 days, I too am making lists and dreaming of what might happen in 2018. Do I hope to write more books? Absolutely! In fact, that’s pretty close to the top of the list. Losing weight? That’s always on my list (#1).

However, for now, my husband and I are scrambling to get our house packed up and moved to a large storage shed before we leave for Ecuador in less than three weeks. Yippee!!! (for the trip – not the packing and moving). I was able to gather up all my Jane Austen paraphernalia and box it up to send to some of my newsletter subscribers. I was so excited to get it done that I failed to notify all of the winners in advance. Good grief! I’m a bonehead.

The winners are:

Billi A.

Christina B.

Meredith E.

Julia R.

Oh my word, I forgot who the 5th winner was. Drat!!! I was going to write it down. Wait! It was Jeanne G.

I do hope you enjoy your surprise gifts. Here is what went into the mail –

For those of you who did not win, please be patient. I insist I’m going to stop buying Jane Austen related items but…you know how it is.

Please take care during the winters months if you are in the northern hemisphere and the summer months if you are south of the equator. Best of wishes to you all!

  1. Have a safe journey. Is this a permanent move? I certainly don’t envy you the packing and storing – this is when you find out just how much stuff you have!!!
Good luck with both the weight losing and the book writing.
And congratulations to the very lucky winners.
    Take care.

    • Thank you, Glynis. We will be in Ecuador for two months but hope to go back down during the summer. Then we will look for another house here in Oregon. I’ve lost 28 pounds since August and hope to have that much off by summer. It’s hard work at my age. Please take care as well.

Congratulations to those winners. Don’t work too hard and overtax yourself packing up. But I know how much you will enjoy seeing your family and being with your grandchildren. Have a safe and uneventful journey and enjoy the time there.

  3. Fabulous! Have a wonderful visit with your family and I’m sure the two of you will be ‘plotting’ together! Congratulations to the winners…what a great way to start the New Year! Safe journey and may The Muse be with you both!!! Happy New Year!

    • Carole, I thank you. Jennifer and I will certainly be plotting and planning as we sprint to see how much writing we can get done daily. She is a force to be reckoned with. All the best to you too.

  4. Congrats to the lucky winners and a Happy New Year Joy! I know Jennifer and family are looking forward to your company, but I don’t envy you with the packing up. Lets hope your respective Muses stimulate each other into even more wonderful writing.

And on the weight loss front, I’m with you on that. In the eight weeks before Christmas, I’d lost 11.5lb but that’s probably taken a bit of a hit over the past two weeks covering Christmas and New Year. Tomorrow, I’m back at my weight loss club for the bad news!

Give them all a big hug from me!

    • I promise to hug them for you, Anji. We are looking forward to putting our heads together to brainstorm on various projects. I adore that about having Jennifer write. It’s so much fun. Sometimes, when we FaceTime, it’s all we talk about.

I’m stuck at 27-28 pounds lost.since August. I’ve started back at the gym after being sedentary for over a year so I have gained muscle mass, which is good. However, it weighs more than fat. I’ll keep at it because I still have a long way to go. The blessing of Ecuador is that I ALWAYS lose a lot of weight so I’m look forward to getting over this hump. Keep it up, Angi. I’m so proud of you!
