I’m Writing!

After plotting out the whole of my next story, I am currently typing chapter seven of what will be a long book. This is the portion of the story I LOVE to write. For the first six chapters there was a massive misunderstanding between Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth. Several times writing it made me chuckle. From this point on (unless the muse hijacks me again) our dear couple will work together to solve a mystery. Yes, a mystery element, which is something very new for me. As they gather clues they will fall madly in love, I guarantee it. I promise!

My goal is to keep my nose to the grindstone. As usual, my daughter (Jennifer Joy) and my friend (Nicole Clarkston) are pushing. I will confess that both of these ladies are loveliness personified. Yet, when they want to know the rest of the story they can be fierce.

For inspiration, my cover designer has provided me with a stunning design for this story. I hope I can do it justice. What do you think? I think it is lovely. Sigh! I set the image over a background of the moon since much of this tale is still up in the air and very much in my imagination. Hopefully, the Elizabeth on the cover will hit the ground soon.

Glad to learn the muse is sitting on your shoulder. I do pray nightly that God will “give you strength, energy, and motivation to make progress in your writing”…as part of my prayer for you. Since I love your stories I look forward to reading this latest one. I do also like mysteries. Lovely cover. Didn’t get the “moon” reference until I looked outside the book, itself. Thanks for sharing. Hope all is well with you and yours.

Big HUGS to you, Sheila. Thank you so much for your positive thoughts and prayers. The wind is blowing from the west so it is pushing the smoke behind us. Right now we have blue skies instead of brownish/gray. I can’t wait until the rains begin. Please take care and thanks for stopping by.

Please tell your muse not to mess with Darcy and Elizabeth being happy to work together! Loving that! Misunderstandings? I suppose I can cope with those for a little while? The cover is looking good!
    Stay well and happy writing!

I always think of you when I am writing scenes that are a bit intense. Don’t you worry, Glynis. I believe that as a pair our couple is formidable. Dear Jane Austen had them tripping over each other’s feet, didn’t she? No one other than the two of them truly did any damage. It will be the same in this story. Once the misunderstanding is cleared up they will be the dynamic duo. Enjoy your weekend!

Looking forward to reading another of your great stories. Are you posting it as a WIP on any of the ff sites or do we just have to wait? I am like a little kid.

Thank you very much, Cheryl. I am not posting because this particular story needs clues planted. I am having to check myself and go back frequently to make certain everything is where it should be. I am hurrying.

Lovely cover and I am looking forward to your new story. I have never heard of so many fires in my life. Goodness. It seems like the whole west has been scorched. I am so sorry. I have relatives that live south of Portland. You will be in my prayers also and specifically… I’m praying for rain.

Thank you very, very much. Our skies are toxic. They have a Level 3 evacuation for an area south of us right now. (That’s leave immediately) Our part of the world is burning! We got a surprise rain shower last night that wasn’t nearly heavy enough or long enough We hope that soon the rains will come. Please take care and stay safe.
