It’s 90 degrees in my part of Oregon today. Is it hot in your part of the world? I thought I’d share something to warm your heart from the inside out. Here is the cover to my latest Christie Capps novella. It left for editing on Thursday. Because of the holiday weekend it will take longer to get it back than I had hoped but I understand a family having important plans. My goal is to have it available on Amazon/Kindle Unlimited by July 15th.
Where on earth did Tommy go? Mrs. Bennet is going to go ballistic when she finds out Tommy has slipped their notice. Like most children, he is probably asleep under a piece of furniture. Or, he has headed for the stables to see the horses. LOL!
That was an amazing few chapters… I LOVED it. When little Tommy put his head against Da’s chest and stuck his thumb in his mouth in contentment… I nearly swooned. Oh my. That was fabulous. I can’t wait to see the rest of it. Is the picture shown the actual cover or just a mock-up? Those eyes are gorgeous. Blessings on this work, stay safe and healthy.
Thank you so much for your comment. The picture is the actual cover. I absolutely could not resist that image. I hope you and yours stay safe as well. These are challenging times. Best wishes to you and yours.
Oh my goodness! That cover is ADORABLE! (And I’m not usually one to notice book covers overmuch.) The story matches the sweet, light tone of the cover – or, I should say, visa versa – perfectly. Well, at least until Tommy went missing. Wonder what kind of mischief he’s getting into?
I’m so pleased you like it, Debbie. That little Tommy is a spittin’ image of what I imagine a young Elizabeth Bennet would have been. I want to keep this light since real life is rather dire. Thank you so much for stopping by.
I am enthralled! I love Darcy’s instant affection for baby Tommy and how it changes his heart. Nicely done. I will be watching for more of this novel and will buy it when it comes out. What a wonderful and uplifting novel premise! Bravo!
I loved the character of Elizabeth’s baby brother and seeing him and Darcy interact with each other. I look forward to reading more of this story after it is released.
Darcy is definitely smitten with that baby. Will he be equally or more smitten with his sister? Of course. This is Darcy and Elizabeth. Thanks so much for your comment, Chelsea.
Oh fabulous! I do love stories with babies, especially when they also have Darcy and Elizabeth! I think Darcy has improved the Bennet’s opinion of him thanks to Tommy’s obsession.
The question is where has he gone? Hopefully Darcy will find him unharmed and full of mischief, Elizabeth will be so grateful that she will smile and take his hand, he will be so overcome that he will propose and they’ll marry quickly so they can have gorgeous children of their own to entertain?
There Joy, all done! (Wink, wink)
I can’t wait to see how you actually finish this. Loving it and that cover!
I’m rather fond of baby stories myself, Glynis. Perhaps it’s because I am missing my grandchildren like crazy. I’ve been going back and dreaming over their pictures when they were babies. They lived next door to us for their first two years. When we moved to Ecuador we lived next door to them. FaceTime is good but real live hugs are so much better.
I wish things would be that easy for our dear couple but do recall that Caroline Bingley is in the house. I’m so happy you stopped by, Glynis.
He wouldn’t have understood much of it to be honest. It’s a good point I need to address since I don’t want to give the impression that Tommy is a Super Baby. Thank you!!! I am so grateful you like this, Liz.
Of course Tommy will work on his sister’s heart as much as he has Mr. Darcy’s. Babies are sneaky that way, aren’t they? This is a pleasure to write. Thank you so much for commenting, Patricia.
I didn’t receive this but did receive chapter five so I had to back track. I do love all your stories, Joy. Good luck with the release of this one. I had not yet read it but wanted to post why I have not commented yet.
What an adorable child! It’s no wonder that Darcy’s heart melted. It would be cute if little Tommy was fascinated with Carolina’s colors and feathers, and did to her what he did to Da! The maternal feelings and all. Too cute.
Love this. Mrs. Bennet with a son. Darcy taken by the boy. I am sure she is seeing Darcy with different eyes now. Looking forward to “the rest of the story”! Thank you for sharing here. Good luck with the release.

Love this story, how much did little Thomas understand of the story he was told? He is one year old?

It was enough to motivate Darcy’s feet to follow where his heart yearned for him to go. Wow! Beautifully written.
