J "Joy" Dawn King May 28, 2019 at 3:57 pm Reply You are so sweet, Deanna. Thank you for your kind comments. Marsha Bagosy May 23, 2019 at 10:12 pm Reply Love this! How you showed his arrogance (how Elizabeth saw him), but then show his softer side and she sees he is a good man. Love the Name of the baby J "Joy" Dawn King May 28, 2019 at 3:58 pm Reply I’m so glad you like the name, Marsha. It was the most popular and I loved it. J. W. Garrett May 23, 2019 at 10:40 pm Reply OH-MY-GOSH!!! I wanted to cry my eyes out. Thank goodness you have cleared up enough for Elizabeth to at least try to understand some of what is going on and the danger they face. Oh, Anne and poor Colonel Richard. I wanted to scream and rail at Lady Catherine and Lord Matlock. I wanted to weep, to cry my eyes out. What a letter. Man, it ripped my heart out. I so love this Darcy and I hope Elizabeth gets all her answers quickly because they will need to work together to save this baby. The cover is amazing and his name is also amazing. Good choice. Now I need my salts or a shot of something to calm my nerves. Goodness… you have nearly killed me. Whew!!! I can’t breathe. I can’t wait for more. I hope I survive it. Thanks Joy… love you!! J "Joy" Dawn King May 28, 2019 at 4:01 pm Reply Love you too, J.W. Garrett. Your comment, OH-MY-GOSH!!! I read it to my husband and we chuckled at “you have nearly killed me”. I’m back at it today and can only say that our dear couple has a long way to go before they both realize what a powerful team they can be. Happy reading! caroleincanada May 23, 2019 at 11:23 pm Reply Yes, you had to write this now…may the Muse be with you. But have you ever broken my heart. Poor Richard, poor Anne and now Elizabeth must right her wrongs against Darcy. Something tells me that Richard Sebastian Fitzwilliam II will be the making of them. Love the name! Can’t wait for more! J "Joy" Dawn King May 28, 2019 at 4:02 pm Reply I apologize about your heart, Carole. I’ll make this all better, I promise. (Yes, that baby has POWER!) Gianna Thomas May 24, 2019 at 12:18 am Reply Powerful beginning, Joy. And it brought me to tears. Hope it’s available soon. Can’t wait to read the rest. This may be your best so far. Hits some hard topics and situations and is extremely well written. Touches the heart big time. <3 J "Joy" Dawn King May 28, 2019 at 4:03 pm Reply Thank you for telling me this, Gianna. I appreciate it more than you can know. I simply adore you, my friend. Gianna Thomas August 22, 2019 at 1:24 pm Reply Adore you too, my friend. <3 Glynis May 24, 2019 at 1:14 am Reply Poor Richard! But thank goodness Elizabeth now knows the true story, hopefully she will start to develop feelings for Darcy and together they can keep young James safe until his father can claim him without interference from Lord Matlock or Lady Catherine. I’m looking forward to this being published so I can read on. Thank you for sharing the beginning Joy. J "Joy" Dawn King May 28, 2019 at 4:04 pm Reply I’ll be honest, Glynis, my heart broke for Richard. You are very welcome. Mary May 24, 2019 at 7:44 am Reply What a wonderful start to your story! Very intriguing! I’m happy to see the first of many incorrect assumptions, on Lizzy’s part, have been cleared, but they still have a long road ahead of them. Thank you for sharing your story. J "Joy" Dawn King May 28, 2019 at 4:05 pm Reply Thank you, Mary. Yes, the road is long but I promise a happy, loving family by the end. Debbie Fortin May 24, 2019 at 10:36 am Reply I love it. And James is a wonderful name for this babe. A strong name. J "Joy" Dawn King May 28, 2019 at 4:05 pm Reply I agree, Debbie. James is a strong name for a little one whose world was turned upside down. He will know love, that’s for sure. Kay Tanner May 24, 2019 at 7:47 pm Reply Oh this really is trading us. You tempt us with what seems to be the beginning of a wonderful story and then leave us wanting. I can’t wait to read the rest. J "Joy" Dawn King May 28, 2019 at 4:06 pm Reply I’m tickled you long for more, Kay. I’m working on it. Rose Drew May 24, 2019 at 8:57 pm Reply I’m hooked! What a compelling beginning. This may be your best yet (and that’s going some) J "Joy" Dawn King May 28, 2019 at 4:07 pm Reply You are very kind, Rose. Thank you. This story has been brewing for a while. The finer details came to me so now I can finish this properly. jbrand3039 May 25, 2019 at 9:04 pm Reply I love the beginning of this story; you have truly started off with a bang! Richard must trust his son to Darcy and Elizabeth, and he doesn’t know Elizabeth. Poor Elizabeth was sold to fill her father’s coffers. Will Darcy tell her the truth? How will he explain the baby to Georgina? At least now Elizabeth knows why he married her. Lord Matlock and Lady Catherine are disgusting! They see this baby as a pawn. Hopefully, Richard can claim his son when he is much older and there is nothing Lady Catherine and Lord Matlock can do. Like everyone else, I am dying to read the rest of this book. J "Joy" Dawn King May 28, 2019 at 4:08 pm Reply You have raised excellent questions I aim to answer as the story unfolds. Thank you so much for commenting. Elin Eriksen May 26, 2019 at 4:49 pm Reply Absolutely fabulous, cannot wait to read this book! PS: Loved the baby name. J "Joy" Dawn King May 28, 2019 at 4:09 pm Reply Thanks, Elin. I cannot wait to see how things work out myself. This is my final comment then I’m off of the Internet and will jump right into the story. I promise. Anji June 3, 2019 at 2:42 pm Reply Just having a tidy up in my Austenesque Inbox (RL has been interfering in a big way lately) and found this gem. I’m too late for the “Name The Baby” competition but the choices folk went for are pretty darned good! How high does your Angst-O-Meter go, Joy? I think we’re looking at least an 11 here, so far! RL has had me shedding so many tears lately, I thought I didn’t have any left, but Richard’s letter proved me wrong. Elizabeth knows why her father agreed to this marriage, despite her lack of affection. So this Mr. Bennet must be even more dilatory than normal if he agrees to “sell” his favourite daughter. Will we be getting more? Pretty please? J "Joy" Dawn King June 4, 2019 at 2:58 pm Reply Anji, thank you for taking the time to comment. Work on this has been slower than I’d hoped because of real life issues. I know you understand. But this will play out slowly and will be my most angst-ridden story I’ve ever written. There’s something about an innocent baby that brings out the best qualities in people, even Mr. Darcy. Do take care, dear lady. Your year has been rough! Amalia E June 19, 2019 at 1:04 am Reply Hey there — am new to anything of fanfiction, so pardon me if I break any cardinal rule (if there’s such a thing). This story sounds so very exciting! I just have a question, though: any baby that would be in the Darcy household would immediately get the attention/ suspicion of the Fitzwilliams, wouldn’t it? Especially as they know that Darcy would be the first person that Richard would think of approaching for help. So, wouldn’t the Fitzwilliams be utterly hounding Darcy and the baby then? Elizabeth cannot pass off the baby as hers as she is newly-married. Would it not make more sense to have Mrs. Milford pose as a tenant of Pemberley be the new Mrs. Darcy’s particular friend, and the newborn child a child of Mrs. Milford who will then be Mr. Darcy’s godson, therefore not carrying the Darcy name but still closely connected to him? Are my questions okay? J "Joy" Dawn King June 19, 2019 at 1:07 am Reply Your questions and comments are perfectly fine. I address almost all of your issues in the next chapter. You are pretty close. Thanks! Liz July 1, 2019 at 10:45 pm Reply Thanks . Will you post the next chapter here? Leave a ReplyCancel reply This site uses Akismet to reduce spam. Learn how your comment data is processed.
