I am so pleased to let you know I finally typed “The End” on my latest Christie Capps story. I hope you are as happy as I am. Here’s the blurb:
He likes her. She hates him. The puppy loves them both.
Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy and Miss Elizabeth Bennet get off to a rocky start. Can three-month-old Scottish sheepdog, Henry, herd two stubborn individuals together long enough to realize they are the perfect partners for a lifetime?
Join in the frustration and fun when Mr. Darcy is forced to retrieve his errant puppy daily as Henry scampers from Netherfield Park to Elizabeth’s home of Longbourn. Told from her point of view, when she repeatedly spies haughty Mr. Darcy humbly showing affection to the puppy, Elizabeth is forced to acknowledge first impressions might not always be accurate. Danger lurks, causing them to work together until Henry is safe.
Is Mr. Darcy’s bark worse than his bite? Will Elizabeth remain as stubborn as a dog with a bone?
This 20,000-word novella is a blend of cranky personalities, blooming affection, and wagging puppy tails.
Enjoy this Regency variation of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice where it truly is a dog’s life.
The editing process as been taking place as I’ve written the story so only the last two chapters need proofread. I’ll do another once over of the whole story to make sure all is in place then it goes to formatting. Since the cover is already finished, I’m looking at early next week for eBook publication. It will take longer for the print copy to be available as I do not have that finished yet.
Oh, I’m just so, so excited. And I am 100% in love with this puppy. Who knew Border Collies were so intelligent and were masters of escape. They are incredible animals. If only I was not allergic.
I’ll let you know once it’s available. Enjoy the rest of 2018.
Oh my goodness! I love Border Collies! They are very intelligent and Henry has his work cut out for him. Absolutely love the cover!! Congratulations!
Glad to see you back and I hope your mother is doing better! Happy Holidays!
Thank you very much, Carole. I joined a Facebook group for Border Collies that has over 250,000 members so I could get information about them. They are marvelous, aren’t they? Their obedience, skill, intelligence, and mischief-making were perfect for this story. I hope you enjoy it.
My Mom has the best attitude EVER. She hates the changes her health has brought but is still a hoot to be around. Thank you so much for asking. Take care.
I am so beyond excited for this, and have been all anticipation!
Thank you, Angela. I’m happy with how it turned out.
I love this premise and can not wait to read the book Joy. Hopefully it will come out sooner rather then later :)) Thanks for letting us know it is coming 🙂
You are welcome, Rita. It should be less than a week.
Love this. A loveable puppy is just what is needed to bring ODC together. Love when they have to work together to solve a problem and Elizabeth realises she doesn’t hate Darcy after all.
I so look forward to this but I must say that you are not helping in my determination to work through my TBR list before buying more. Oh well, maybe next year for those.
It’s a lovely problem to have, Glynis. This little fur ball is quite a puppy.
Condone your new book. I am excited to read this. I love dog book and it looks like this sheepdog has his work cut out for him to heard Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth together.
Congratulations, not condone!
It’s true, Shelley. Henry is a major part of this story. He’s such a happy fellow. His matchmaking is accidental but very effective.
Congratulations on this new book. And glad to hear your news about your mother. My husband is allergic to both cats and dogs so we have a parakeet. My son has a dog and my one daughter has a cat so I love those two pets. The photo of this Henry is beautiful. “Dogs love their humans more than they love themselves” I read somewhere. Looking forward to reading this.
I LOVE that quote, Sheila. It perfectly describes this little puppy. I’m excited to see what you think of this little guy.
Oh, how exciting. That is a fabulous cover. Look at the intelligence, and a bit of mischief, in those eyes. I can’t wait. I received Amazon gift cards from a friend for Christmas. She knows I love books and wasn’t sure what to pick out for me. I was told to buy what I liked. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect. Pre-Order!!
You have a true friend, Jeanne. Gift cards for books are the best. My goal is to have this available by Saturday. I adore Border Collies.
