Now Available! Field of Dreams
I received an email from a concerned reader who worried I was not well after reading Field of Dreams. She said, “It’s sad and happy. I am used to your stories being fun and exciting.” Trust me, I am used to the same.
In the two months since my Mom died, I have fewer sad days. In truth, my Mom would have been very, very unhappy with me mourning her for so long. Therefore, over this past week I have made a good start on two more “Dreaming of Darcy” stories.
The first one is “Book of Dreams”. This is mostly set in Hertfordshire. The other is “River of Dreams”. The river in this story is the Mississippi. It is post Hunsford after the rejected proposal. I’m having a ball with this. The research alone is amazing. There is the potential for Darcy and Elizabeth to meet Daniel Boone, Davy Crockett, Mike Fink, Nathanial Bowditch, Robert Livingston, President James Madison, and Robert Fulton (inventor). If they can make it all the way to New Orleans there are the pirate brothers, Jean & Pierre Lafitte. Can you imagine the mischief they can get into? I can.
I have the cover for “River of Dreams” already finished. I’m trying to decide between three images for “Book of Dreams”. I’ll post them here. Do you have a preference? I would sure like to know. (I’ve also attached my current covers in this series)

Here is the Amazon link for “Field of Dreams: Amazon
Happy reading!

I would choose the 3rd photo to be consistent with the other books in the series.
It would be nice to somehow show her holding a book.

What a great idea to have her hold a book. My cover designer is a miracle worker so she could probably do this. Thank you so much for your reply.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Losing your Mom is not easy. Mine has been gone now for 25 years now and she is still missed every day. Seems the older I get, the more I wish she was here. Just remember, there’s no right or wrong way to grieve. I send you prayers for your comfort.
I loved Field of Dreams. I was surprised at how many times I wept. I do love a tearjerker though. I feel like any book that can draw out my emotions in such a way is very often a five-star read for me.
The cover samples for River of Dreams are all very good, but I think the one you you have already mocked up looks perfect, and the colouring complements the first book perfectly.

Thank you for your comforting comment, Marie. I’m sorry you know how I feel. Mom’s are special.
Very good. I REALLY like the cover for River of Dreams. It’s Book of Dreams I’m having trouble with although the third image with her back to us is probably my favorite.
I’m so glad you were able to read Field of Dreams. It’s a hard book for some since the loss is fresh. I can’t reread it.

Hi. Well I just wanted to say that I like the girl with her back to us. It just seems right.
Field of dreams was a tear jerker but in a happy way. I thought you dealt with a difficult topic in a sensitive way. It wasn’t all sad. I liked very much the character that you gave Mrs Bennet and how you didn’t linger over Wickham..
It was a lovely story with a a nice hope for all at the end. Look forward to reading your next one

Thank you, Millie. That is my favorite of the images too.
I’m so glad you were able to read this story. Your comment is very kind.

Since the other two are of the back, I would use the far right one.

Thank you, Patricia. I completely agree. I will order the cover now.
