Interviews and Such

I have been remiss in reporting my activities with the release of One Love – Two Hearts – Three Stories. I apologize.

My first blog appearance was on Ceri Tanti’s blog “Babblings of a Bookworm”. What an awesome experience. When Ceri posted the results of the book giveaway, she included the following comment: “We had such fun on J Dawn King’s guest post, I just checked my blog statistics and it’s the most viewed post I’ve ever had!” Wow! There were 164 comments left on the post, which you may find here:

A week later I was interviewed by Janet Taylor at “More Agreeably Engaged”. This was especially noteworthy as my only child, Jennifer Joy, had just appeared with the release of her first book. Janet’s blog was the first one I was on last year when “A Father’s Sins” released. Lots of history here. It was a fun post that can be found at:

The third week of June I visited Sophie Andrew’s blog, “Laughing With Lizzie”. I love any chance to interact with that particular young lady. Her enthusiasm for all things Jane Austen and her support of variation authors is admirable. My post is found here:

Rounding out my blog tour is an interview with Maria Grace at “Random Bits of Fascination”. Boy were these questions a challenge. I had to put my thinking cap on. What a terrific experience. Please follow the link to:

Needless to say, it’s been an exciting launch for my new book. Have you read it yet?

Next, I want to let you know that there are many more goodies that will be given away on July 31st than what is shown in the picture. So, MORE PRIZES!!! I do love giving things away.

Lastly, the response to my new release has been incredible. So, I’m going to add some signed copies into the mix of Jane Austen prizes. After all, why not? It’s the reason I have this site, isn’t it?

So, please know that I appreciate you choosing to spend a bit of time with me when you stop. Enjoy your day!!!

I’m Having a “Proud Mom” Moment

It’s my daughter’s first blog interview at Janet B. Taylor’s More Agreeably Engaged. What a delightful coincidence that my very first blog interview was also on Janet’s blog. That was one year ago when I released A Father’s Sins. Next week, I’m posting an excerpt from my latest release at the same site.

How does that make me feel? Absolutely, positively appreciative for Janet’s kind support and welcome.

Please check out Jennifer’s post at:

It’s Out! One Love – Two Hearts – Three Stories: A Pride and Prejudice Anthology is on Amazon

Imagine my surprise when I checked and found my latest book available in paperback. Yippee!!! Do you want to see it? I want to show it to you. NOTE: It should be available in eBook format for your Kindle no later than June 1, 2015.

Here’s what you will find in its 340 pages:

The Library

What happens when Fitzwilliam Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet are alone in the library at Netherfield Park and they decide to talk instead of ignore each other? In Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, the half hour passes without either our hero or our heroine speaking one word to each other. This sweet variation has them breaking their silence. What follows is a conversation filled with confrontation, clarification, and love.

Fitzwilliam Darcy needs a wife! Elizabeth Bennet needs a husband!

What results when two strong-minded, kind-hearted strangers unite in this most sacred state? Will love grow? In this full-length novel, Darcy and Elizabeth are faced with frustrations and blossoming feelings of tenderness. Our favorite couple finally reach their happily ever after. Or, do they?

When Miss Georgiana Darcy stumbles upon her beloved George Wickham willingly wrapped in a passionate embrace with someone else, the elopement is off. Running to her new friend, Miss Elizabeth Bennet, she involves her in a plan to get help from her brother, Fitzwilliam Darcy, and bring Wickham to justice.

In this novella length story, does Darcy marry Elizabeth? Does Colonel Fitzwilliam find the woman of his dreams? And, what happens to the nefarious Mr. Wickham? Enjoy this alternate path to our favorite couple’s happily ever after.

Pride and Prejudice Anthology Cover LARGE EBOOK

In Joy’s World

A fellow author of Jane Austen fan fiction, Victoria Kincaid, has been nominated for a prestigious RONE award for 2015. I could not be more proud. Her debut book, The Secrets of Darcy and Elizabeth: A Pride and Prejudice Variation is outstanding and very deserving of an award.

Recently, my daughter, Jennifer Joy, published her very first book. Darcy’s Ultimatum has had tremendous success, spending almost the whole of its first month with a #1 banner from Amazon under it’s gorgeous cover. Recently, Abigail Reynolds and Sarah Johnson’s new releases also hit that coveted #1 spot.

So, what about A Father’s Sins? How did it do it’s first year? In January 2015, A Father’s Sins was chosen as a Highlight from 2014 at Sophie Andrews’ blog, Laughing With Lizzy. Here is what she said:” really enjoyed this story. It was unique and different. This is a much more serious variation than I usually read, but it was an interesting and enjoyable change … The story was very dramatic and fast paced but had romance and humour – a perfect mix! Joy really is a talented author and I can’t wait for more!” Thank you! Thank you very much!

In other news – JAFF Recs has a blog and Facebook page that highlights and indexes many Jane Austen fan fiction stories. Each month she has readers vote for their top 5 favorites that have been posted as complete for the prior month. For April, I have two stories in the running. If you would like to check out this site and read some incredible stories, please click the following:

If you look closely you will see mine – The Library and Forgotten. If you would like to read either of them, here are the links:

The Library:

As a note, The Library will be renamed “Mr. Darcy’s Courtship” and bundled with another short story entitled “Summer at Ramsgate“. These will be released the first part of May 2015 (yes, soon!).

Let’s see – OH, another story is just finishing edits but is also available. It’s a 50,000 word story called “Married!”. It will soon be released as “Fitzwilliam Darcy, Married!”, but is also available to read for free online at:

Finally, the audio clip is being uploaded as I type this for A Father’s Sins. Yippee! Please enjoy!

Jane Austen Fan Fiction Rules the Charts!

Look what I found today. The top four books in this category at Amazon are all Pride and Prejudice variations. They are good stories written by wonderful women.

Zoe 4-6-15

Jennifer Joy is my daughter and this is her debut book. Leenie Brown is also a first time author. Zoe Burton is a fellow NASCAR/Jane Austen devotee, and Rose Fairbanks is one of the best at character development. Four distinct personalities with one great love – Darcy and Elizabeth.

Please check out the sample pages for confirmation that I am not exaggerating, especially for my daughter. If it was my GRANDDAUGHTER? Of course I would exaggerate. That’s my job!

What’s New in Joy’s World?

I am in a crazed writing frenzy. I have short stories churning around in my pea-sized brain and they are screaming to get out. So, I’m posting them at: – –

It was my intent to post them on A Happy Assembly as well, but I’m going to start pulling them off the forums and publishing them about April 15, 2015.

In the meantime, please check out my stories.

Please leave a comment here or with the story and let me know what you think. I’m all anticipation!

Hello world!

It is a truth universally acknowledged that I am a little bit intimidated by my computer. What if I push the wrong button? What if I accidentally do something that will cause permanent damage? These are real worries to me. They cause stress and anxiety. Odd? I don’t think I’m alone in this.

I have always been a bit of a risk taker, though I’m much more cautious in my old age. Bungee jumping, hang gliding, hot air ballooning, and scuba diving were part of my youth. Yet, I just bought a new laptop with a touch screen and I am TERRIFIED of my Mom slapping my hands if she saw the fingerprints. Go figure!

So, I become a writer. Who types! On a computer! What foolishness is this? Since I love what I do, I think I need to become friends with this machine. We shall see!
